What kinds of DHEA are there?
"There are two types of DHEA available: pharmaceutical grade DHEA supplements and DHEA extracts.
"Only a doctor can prescribe pharmaceutical grade DHEA. Synthetic or pharmaceutical grade DHEA is produced from pharmaceutical grade ingredients.
This form is molecularly identical to the DHEA that we produce.
"DHEA extracts are available over-the-counter and are made from the Mexican yam called Dioscorea that contains a sterol called diosgenin which
contains about 5 to 10 percent of true DHEA. The other 90 percent of the drug ingredients include varying amounts of other hormones."

Our own WorldWide Labs brand of DHEA
is made from purified DHEA, which would be not be classified as DHEA extract. Any reputable product properly labeled as for example 25 mg DHEA
should be purified or pharmaceutical grade DHEA, or else should be listed as "25 mg DHEA from 250 or 500 mg yam extract" or some other
similar wording.

How reliable are the various DHEA products?
"The U.S. Food and Drug Administration does not strictly regulate herbs and supplements. There is no guarantee of strength, purity or safety of
products, and effects may vary. You should always read product labels.
"If you have a medical condition, or are taking other drugs, herbs, or
supplements, you should speak with a qualified healthcare provider before starting a new therapy. Consult a healthcare provider immediately if you
experience side effects."
- U.S. National Institutes of Health
What dosage should I get?
For adults, "commonly used doses range from 25-200 milligrams daily."
- U.S. National Institutes of Health
See our dosages page for more information and, as always, check with your healthcare professional for your specific needs and conditions.
Our own WorldWide Labs brand of DHEA has 25 mg of DHEA per tablet, with 60 tablets in a bottle.
What is the difference between "sustained release" and "regular release"?
Sustained release allows for a continual release of DHEA over the course of the day.
Sustained release is also known as timed release and controlled release.
Regular release delivers its effectiveness as it is digested, which is a relatively short time.
WorldWide Labs DHEA is formulated with sustained release.
Will my country allow me to buy DHEA?
Some countries do not allow the sale of DHEA within their borders. However individuals in those countries can often buy a personal supply
to be delivered by postal or courier services. See our country restrictions page for
more information. We specialize in such deliveries, packaging the product acceptably for these countries' customs departments.
What about a DHEA cream?
"Many different aspects of menopause have been studied using DHEA as a treatment. When DHEA is applied topically (on the skin) as a cream, it
may improve vaginal pain and discomfort associated with menopause. However, it is not clear whether DHEA cream has any benefits in treating
osteoporosis after menopause.
"Early evidence suggests that DHEA may not be an effective treatment for hot flashes or emotional disturbances
such as fatigue, irritability, anxiety, depression, insomnia, difficulties with concentration, memory, or decreased sex drive (which may occur
near the time of menopause). However, some study results disagree."
- Mayo Clinic®
Besides tablets we also provide a DHEA cream, manufactured by At Last Naturals.
