I will start by telling you that I am 70 years old, and had a hysterectomy when I was 38 yrs. old. Then 20 years ago had to have my stomach removed because of ulcers. So I have had a real problem with assimilating any kind of med. by mouth. The past years have been a continuing trial and error and successes, trying to find something that would work for me.I have read through your info and haven't seen anything about DHEA effecting the eyes. I have been taking 125 mg. of DHEA for one year. I was having a serious problem with my eyes that I had had prior cataract surgery in both eyes. As of today I can say that my eyesight has improved by approx. 50%. I can now drive without glasses, for the last six weeks, except sun glasses when needed. Also hair loss has diminished to a natural loss %. After I had been taking the hormone for six months. My Doctor (Internist) checked my blood for testosterone which prior to starting the DHEA I was getting with an injection of estrogen-testosterone and B12 weekly. I started noticing, the symptoms of lack of estrogen were coming back, but according to the blood test my testosterone was right smack in the middle of the normal range. I had to resume my estrogen injections, but no testosterone added. Lack of testosterone brings on headaches and depression for me. I have not felt this well for many years. Yes, it has made my skin more oily, but I live in Utah which is a dry climate, and the oil is welcome. My skin is looking great. It seems I am assimilating enough of the DHEA, to be a steady intake instead of the ups and downs of injected hormone. I have been taking it in the morning as suggested.
